The Red White & Blue Ball is an intimate music and camping festival being held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at The Ball Farm – a beautiful, private farm and outdoor venue located 25 miles southeast of downtown Austin, TX.
This year’s second annual event boasts outstanding live music, a BYOB family-friendly atmosphere, free camping in a shaded campground, tasty offerings from local food trucks, a giant water slide, misting stations, local artisan vendors, and more.
The inaugural RWBB in 2012 featured Austin’s most exciting and talented artists, who took the main stage as the setting sun painted the backdrop. Talent included headliners, Wheeler Brothers, Austin Music Awards “Best New Band” in 2011 and “Band of the Year” #2 in 2012.
Completing the roster was an impressive line-up that included outlaw country rising-stars, Crooks, the feverish finger-picking phenom, Shakey Graves, the foot-stomping folk band, Hello Wheels, and the genre-blurring San Marcos quintet, Those Nights. Late-night acts included one-man phunk band, Henry + The Invisibles, and guitar guru, Jimmie Dreams.
Interactive, cutting edge artistic projects engaged the crowd throughout the event. The Edge of Imagination Station provided a an innovative stop motion animation lab, and The Illuminariums offered “create-your-own” light paintings.
A huge highlight and hopeful mainstay of the event was a massive 27′ Tropical Falls Water Slide, provided by RWBB partner, Bounce Across Texas. Nothing cuts through the Texas heat like some wet and wild fun, and our patrons and bands had a blast letting loose on the slide. Having Bounce Across Texas involved was one of the best decisions we made, and we can’t wait to see what new and exciting water games we bring to the farm this year!
The picturesque Ball Farm stretches across 62 acres and has been host to numerous events, including two years of the Oxblood Masquerade and Future Fest ’11. It was also the setting for the award-winning short film Eulogy Maker.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Groundwork Music Project, whose mission is to provide free and low cost music lessons to preschoolers with limited means.
